We Sail On

Today truly is the first day of the rest of our lives. I had a choice of wiping off all my earlier postings to start my new life as a blogger. But I have such wonderful memories of friends we've gained from all over the world, some of the times recorded in this blog. So we 'sail on' in this old boat.

Charis Bible College is the best thing we ever did for lots of reasons. Certainly for all the friends we met in those few years. But I think the most wonderful thing about truly realizing God grace. And that as a foundation for interpreting scripture in a new and living way. No longer is God waiting for me to perform and earn my blessing. He has already "given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue." 2 Peter 1:3 (NKJV) It's through the knowledge of what Jesus has provided for us that we are able to become like Him. Knowledge of our traditions has hindered us, some to the point of death. Jesus has given us abundant life. And most of us leave those blessings on the table.

God is a good god. Tradition has God doing some really awful things to the people He sent His Son to die for. He's not mad at us. He doesn't hold our sins against us. And He certainly doesn't punish us for sins forgiven! Why would a good god continue to punish us for one mistake, especially when He already forgave it. We just don't use our hearts when it comes to realizing the attributes of God. We'd rather believe tradition. So right now with what is new information to some of you, you're not sure about anything I've said. But let's 'sail on' and get to the other side.

FRITTATA

Actually, this was yesterday's breakfast, JoElla's beautiful creation. I just didn't get around to posting. Quiet a ring to it, frittata.
